Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia

The Australian Embassy and Consulate Generals in Indonesia are pleased to announce the return of Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia (FSAI) in 2024, shining a spotlight on Australian film to Indonesia audiences.

Celebrating its ninth-consecutive year, FSAI 2024 will visit ten cities in Indonesia: Jakarta, Mataram, Bandung, Surabaya, Manado, Makassar, Padang, Samarinda, Balikpapan, Yogyakarta.  The festival will also mark the 75th Anniversary of Australia - Indonesia Diplomatic Relations with this year’s line-up of films showcasing uniquely Australian stories that highlight our history, diversity, and creativity.

FSAI 2024 also features a popular film produced by an Indonesian Australian alumna, as well as opportunities for film students, emerging film makers and the general public to learn from Australian filmmakers and alumni at our filmmaking masterclasses.

How to get tickets

  • Select the session of the movie you want to watch.
  • You will be directed to the online ticketing platform.
  • Complete your details on the Checkout form.
  • After registering you will receive a confirmation email. Pick up your ticket at least 1 hour before the movie screening. Redeem your confirmation email at the FSAI ticket registration desk in the cinema lobby area.
  • Want to watch a movie but ran out of tickets? Don't worry! Come to the FSAI ticket registration desk at the cinema 1 hour before the movie and join the waiting list to get tickets on the spot.

Rick Rifici

Award-winning Director of Photography

An award-winning director of photography, Rick Rifici has over 35 years’ experience in documentary, feature film and television industry. Based in Australia, Rick has been a leading cinematographer on a variety of critically acclaimed projects.

His creativity, eye for detail and professionalism has seen him work with both Australian and International directors and producers.

Rick’s passion for cinematography has seen him recognised by the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (ACCTA) and the film critics circle of Australia.

Rick has a talent for capturing the authenticity of individuals in diverse environments, enriching the narrative through careful visual composition, use of light and shade and technical means. He is driven by a profound sense of responsibility to honour the rawness of each subject and setting, translating a place, a moment, or an idea into the reality of cinema.

Rick is driven to realise a director's vision and bring it to life on screen, cultivating a strong connection and understanding of the subject.

He is passionate about exploring mixed formats and equipment, to achieve the pinnacle of production value in distinctive and unpredictable surroundings.


Dr Martin Potter

Lecturer for Screen and Design, School of Creative Arts, Deakin University

Dr. Martin Potter is a multi-award winning creative director and producer of transmedia and media for development projects.  He has produced work across Asia, Africa and the Pacific.  Martin has an extensive track record as a transmedia and documentary producer and has received over $10 million in competitive funding to deliver this work.

Currently he is a member of the Alfred Deakin Institute, a fellow of the Deakin MotionLab and an Investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage where he supports the storying and visualisation of research across a range of media settings.  Martin’s Masterclasses, to be staged at Binus and Telkom universities, will focus on his most recent work, The Earth Above, a feature-length full-dome planetarium show produced by the Deakin MotionLab and partners in collaboration with First Nations communities.
 

Steve Jaggi

Producer and CEO of Jaggi Entertainment

Focusing on audience driven films for the streaming age, Steve Jaggi has produced a number of successful films including the global hit Netflix film Love is in the Air as well as the successful Netflix original series Dive Club (which he also created and show-ran), high rated romance films such as This Little Love of Mine (Netflix), When Love Springs (Hallmark), Romance on the Menu (Hallmark / Netflix), One Perfect Match (Great American Media) as well as teen films Rip Tide (Netflix), Back of the Net (Disney), Swimming for Gold (Paramount) as well as the Giant Screen documentary.
 

Dr Louise Curham

Archivist, Film Maker and Lecturer in the School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry, Curtin University
Dr Louise Curham is an archivist, experimental film maker and lecturer in the School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. Louise uses her art and her expertise as an archivist to explore themes that flow from old media, ranging from digitisation to the impact of algorithm-based technology on citizens.
